Who we are
This website is operated by Nikki Perez for City Council 2026, the campaign committee supporting the re-election of Nikki Perez to the Burbank City Council. When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “the campaign,” it means that committee.

Information you give us
You can read everything on this site without telling us anything about yourself. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it, such as when you:
- Sign up to join the campaign. Our form asks for your first and last name and email address, and optionally your phone number, whether you would like to receive text messages, how you would like to help (hosting an event, making calls, walking your neighborhood, or other), and, if you are endorsing Nikki, the title you would like listed with your endorsement.
- Make a contribution. Contributions are processed by ActBlue on their own website, not on this one. ActBlue collects your payment information and provides the campaign with the contributor details we are required to keep and report. We never see or store your full payment card number.
- RSVP to an event. Event RSVPs are handled by Action Network on their website, and the information you enter there is provided to the campaign.
- Email us or otherwise contact us directly.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our web host automatically receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. This is a normal part of delivering a website and is used for security and reliability.
Beyond that, we have deliberately kept this site quiet:
- We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, web beacons, or analytics services on this site. We are not building an advertising profile of you here.
- This site stores one short-lived item in your browser’s session storage so that the animation between pages plays correctly. It contains no personal information and is discarded when you close the tab.
- The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. That means Google receives your IP address as part of serving the font files. We do not send Google any other information about you from this site.
How we use your information
- To send you campaign news, updates, and invitations, if you asked us to.
- To coordinate volunteering and follow up on how you offered to help.
- To process contributions and to meet our legal reporting obligations.
- To list your endorsement, if you gave us one.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To understand and improve how the campaign reaches Burbank residents.
We do not share your information with other campaigns
We do not sell, rent, trade, loan, exchange, or otherwise transfer your personal information to other candidates, campaigns, political parties, party committees, political action committees, advocacy organizations, or commercial data brokers.
Many political committees participate in list swaps and list rentals, where your information is passed to other campaigns you never signed up for. We do not do that. If you give us your information, it stays with this campaign.
The limited situations where we do disclose information
Campaign finance reporting
California’s Political Reform Act and the rules of the California Fair Political Practices Commission and the City of Burbank require campaign committees to publicly report certain contributor information. Under current California law, if you contribute $100 or more, we are required to report your name, address, occupation, and employer. Those reports are public records. We cannot remove that information once it has been filed, and we are not able to keep a reportable contribution anonymous.
Service providers
We use a small number of vendors to operate the campaign. They may handle your information only in order to provide their service to us:
- ActBlue, which processes contributions.
- Action Network, which handles event RSVPs.
- Google, whose tools receive and store sign-up form submissions, and whose font service delivers the site’s typeface.
- Our website host, which delivers this site to your browser.
These companies have their own privacy policies governing information you provide directly to them, and we encourage you to read them.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we are required to by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the campaign, our supporters, or the public, or to investigate fraud or unlawful activity.
Text messages
We only send text messages to people who asked to receive them. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or reply HELP for help. We do not share your phone number with other campaigns or committees.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Every campaign email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also email us at any time to be removed from our list.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email Nikki@NikkiPerez.com and we will do our best to honor your request promptly. Please note the one exception described above: contributor information that we have already been required to report publicly cannot be withdrawn from those public filings.
Data security
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. That said, no website or method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
This site links to other websites, including ActBlue and Action Network. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes to how we handle your information will be reflected here before they take effect.
